We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Planning Manager to join our team within Vistry Manchester & Cheshire East, at our Warrington office. As our Assistant Planning Manager, you will support senior colleagues in delivering a wide range of planning services within the business.   • Degree in Town Planning, Urban Planning, Geography, or a related field (RTPI accredited preferred)
  • Working towards or interest in achieving RTPI chartership
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • A proactive and detail-oriented approach to problem-solving

Desirable…

  • Extensive previous experience in a planning consultancy, developer, or local authority
  • Familiarity with the UK planning system and development control processes

More about the Assistant Planning Manager role…

  • Assist in the preparation of planning appraisals
  • Prepare and submit minor planning applications, including discharge of condition applications and non-material amendments;
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of planning applications;
  • Conduct research and analysis on planning policy, land use, and development proposals.
  • Preparation of pre-application letters to support the land team;
  • Liaise with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders.
  • Monitor planning applications and deadlines.
  • Support the preparation of development strategies and feasibility studies.
  • Attend site visits, public consultations, and planning committee meetings.
  • Stay updated on changes in planning legislation and policy.
