We have a new opportunity for a Senior Planning Manager to join our team within Vistry Southern, based out of our Basingstoke Office. As our Senior Planning Manager, you will support planning input across the Business Unit required to promote and deliver the Company’s development sites across the south.
You will report to the Head of Planning and lead on the preparation, submission and negotiation of all types of planning applications, the monitoring and evidencing of S106 obligations and condition trackers to ensure compliance and support house sales and assist in the identification and promotion of new development opportunities and provide advice to the Business Unit as required. The role will working across a wide variety of existing and new developments working closely with LPAs and Partners.

- BA/BSc (Hons) Planning related studies and/or postgrad Diploma in Planning Studies
- Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (preferable)
- A minimum of 3 years previous relevant experience in consultancy or development company, demonstrating site appraisal/negotiation/communication skills and knowledge of planning/legal process
- Some housebuilder experience an advantage
More about the Senior Planning Manager role…
- Preparation, submission and negotiation of planning applications (Full/Reserved Matters applications, discharge of conditions, non-material amendments etc)
- Monitoring and evidencing s106 obligations.
- Monitoring and evidencing planning condition discharge/compliance.
- Liaise, consult and negotiate with relevant external organisations, including attendance at public consultation and stakeholder events.
- Provide planning advice on issues arising on sites already secured and continuing to progress our current sites.
- Planning reviews and reporting on potential land acquisitions.
- Working closely with LPAs and Partners throughout all stages of development projects.
- Ad-hoc advice notes to the business on emerging national planning policy and legislation.
- Monitor Central and Local Government policies, guidance and advice.
- Provide advice and assistance to colleagues and trainees on planning matters.
- Ensure continued professional development to meet MRTPI requirements.
- Undertake other duties as required
- Ensure the team are meeting the Company’s health and safety commitments and attend all relevant training
- Provide an effective handover to the regional business following the grant of planning permission to ensure a smooth and efficient site start is achieved for each development.
